What will I be doing?As Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent guest and team member experience. You will monitor standards and coach a team of approximately 25 Team Members. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Supervises the Housekeeping Team Members and conduct regular departmental briefings: ensure productivity, high qulity of work and inform Team Members about Hotel occupancy, groups, VIPs and important specifics of the day.
- Cover supervisor tasks in case of absence including opening and closing of shifts. Manage the daily allocation of work and deep cleaning tasks for the Supervisors, Housemen and the Housekeeping Attendants
- Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules
- Ensure consistently high operating standards in every area of housekeeping and laundry, as identified by the hotel brand standards
- Perform routine inspections of all Housekeeping areas and report any issues
- Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of all housekeeping team members with an emphasis on training and team work
- Proactively take ownership to resolve and conclude on projects within desired timeframe
- As part of the Management Team you attend executive level meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information
- You are responsible for the health and safety of Team Members and guests and you ensure that Housekeeping protocols such as administration of the lost property store, key control, safety and security and emergency measures apply.
What are we looking for?To successfully fill this role, we are looking for the following attitude, skills and values:
- Housekeeping/laundry experience in the hotel in a managerial role
- High level of commercial awareness and cost control capabilities
- Positive self-starter who can work independently and enjoys carrying out projects to a successful completion.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Committed to delivering a high level of customer service, both internally and externally.
- Looks for areas that need improvement and pro-actively comes up with ideas - not afraid of change and trying out new ways.
- Knowledge of Workplace, Health, Safety and Hygiene is essential
- Fluency in English and preferably Dutch
