Description

The Bank’s entire operations are managed by COO Division and are headed up by the Chief Operating Officer. The COO division comprises Operations, Finance, Information Management, Human Resources and Logistics. COO employees are committed to providing, with professionalism and enthusiasm, an efficient, proactive, high-quality service that meets the needs of clients within the context of the Bank’s overall strategy. Union Bancaire Privée, UBP SA is looking for a new Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) based in Zurich, who will be responsible for the further development of the CSR strategy and its implementation across the Bank, including its international locations.

Mission

Drive and shape the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy of the Bank in collaboration with the Head of Sustainability and the relevant business units. Lead the transition to net-zero across the bank and ensure Compliance with upcoming regulations.

Challenges

Manage the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee (CSRCO) and develop, motivate and lead the CSR team.

Main responsibilities

In collaboration with the Head of Sustainability, further develop and implement the CSR strategy, taking into account regulatory changes such as CSRD and Swiss ordonnance on climate. Initiate and lead CSR projects in the field of environmental footprint, recruitment and working conditions, and social and community engagement

Actively contribute to the Bank’s Sustainability agenda as member of the Sustainability STC and provide regular reporting to the STC, to the Head of Sustainability, and the Executive Committee on CSR matters. Represent CSR at the Responsible Investment Committee (RICO).

Run regular assessments and identify improvement areas as well as upcoming regulatory changes

Provide guidance to organizational units and locations with regard to CSR-relevant projects

Raise awareness of CSR issues among internal and external stakeholders and convincingly implement solutions

Define and drive the net-zero path for the Bank, and lead the recently started project on European non-financial disclosure requirement

Coordinate, and actively participate in its global carbon footprint assessment, as well as environmental reporting

Regularly communicate on social responsibility activity internally and externally

Represent UBP in CSR related external bodies (e.g., UNGC, ABG)


Language skills

English and German: Fluent

French is an asset

Education

  • Education: Master Degree
  • Certification: Successfully completed higher education in sustainability studies, ideally with focus on environment
  • IT Tools: • Good working skills in Excel and other MS tools

Experience

  • Years of experience: +10 : senior
  • Experience required: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in CSR roles in financial services firms; extensive knowledge of Swiss and international regulations in sustainability Experience in developing and implementing a net-zero path
  • Experience in private banking: Mandatory

Language

  • English: Fluent
  • German: Fluent

  • Swiss resident: Mandatory

Structured approach and strong interpersonal skills Precise, reliable, flexible, and service oriented Strong communication and stake holder management skills, particularly in dialog with the various corporate divisions as well as with external interfaces (authorities, associations and business partners, etc.) High level of management and methodological skills with regards to interdisciplinary and international project work as well as experience in managing external service providers
